Ames Christian University actively supports home schooling. We believe that the concepts behind home schooling (quality, self-determination, faith-based
education, integrated learning) will drive education innovation over the next generation.Ames Christian supports home schooling in several important ways. First, we practice no age discrimination. If a young person
has completed their home school education, and can verify a high school graduation or equivalency, they are welcome to enroll in Ames Christian. Second, we provide a sound, practical, logical curriculum grounded in
truth. Our primary purpose is to prepare learners to serve the Body of Christ in their vocations, so our curriculum content is built around biblical standards for the pursuit of truth and excellence. A home school
graduate will finish their Ames Christian education with their faith reinforced and envigorated by the truth. Next, we honor home school graduation and completions. Whether documented by a valid home transcript or a
certificate of completion by a curriculum provider, we recognize graduation from a home school just as we would from a public or private school. For additional validity, some home schoolers also report the results of
GED testing. Finally, and certainly not least, Ames Christian University's
Bachelor of Christian Arts
concentration in Education features a track for home school educators. Parents and educators who wish to prepare themselves to excel in the home school environment are welcome to take these concentration courses. The courses may be taken either by themselves or as part of a degree concentration. Either way, the earn Ames Christian credit while enhancing the parent educators confidence and clarity in the home school setting.
We are delighted to support home schooling as a social and spiritual revolution. |
